A Quiet Mind and an Awakened Heart
Hello friend and welcome again to our circle of hearts!
Today I want to share with you Heart Rhythm Meditation in its glory. I want you to have the opportunity to feel what it's like to touch your heart with your breath, to breathe deeply and rhythmically, and to feel your beautiful heartbeat.
All this will be yours after enjoying my guided meditation that I've recorded just for you, loyal reader of the Mystic Heart Meditation Newsletter.
Heart Rhythm Meditation is the master practice that I do every day and I teach every week locally. I love how it takes me deep within, exploring and illuminating every part of my being, all within my own heart.
Your Physical Heart
You see, we start by focusing on our physical heart and we do this by looking for our heartbeat and/or our pulse. This is not always easy for beginners to locate their heartbeat though some people find it easy to do right away.
Most people are able to find their pulse by contacting a pulse point with 2 fingers on the wrist or neck.
The heartbeat is your body's internal clock and it sets the rhythm for your entire being. It beats out its rhythm to every cell in the body. It's electromagnetic field is much stronger than the field of the brain.
In fact, your heart sends messages to your brain. So by focusing on our hearts in this ancient practice, focusing on the message coming from our hearts, we then attune ourselves to that.
We say that the mind is the lampshade of the heart. And your heart is like a sun in your chest, radiating out of you with the peace of your heart. And peace is the strongest emotion you can send to someone else.
Your Emotional Heart
As we continue with our heart rhythm meditation practice, focusing on our physical hearts, we are led deeper now into our emotional or energetic heart.
The energetic heart is multi-dimensional. It has height and depth. It has width and it has forward and back dimensions. It also contains an inner dimension which is the capacity for the heart to grow in any dimension.
The heart is where your emotional core is located. When meditating upon our hearts we are centered in our emotional center and we experience the many layers of emotion that range from personal to universal.
In our practice we welcome all emotion as it is a sign of an alive heart. And we send breath to our heart as we meditate. This gives the heart energy and it responds with its gratitude and appreciation.
You may feel your heartbeat speed up at times, or slow down at other times. Sometimes you can't feel your heartbeat at all. We say that the heart is very mysterious. It also contains an imprint of our true selves that we were born with.
Your Spiritual Heart
As you dive deeper into your own heart you begin to access your sacred heart. You start to feel a connection, first with yourself, then with the atmosphere around you, and then you feel as though you are expanding out from the heart into the wider space around you.
You feel connected to others and realize you can send your love or healing energy out from your heart to the hearts of others. This is real healing power and it's healing for you and for others.
This spiritual connection is sometimes referred to as mysticism. It is a direct connection to the Divine that starts by tapping into the flesh of your heart (the heartbeat) as described above.
And now, enough talking about it. Let's meditate.
